Partiendo de la tesis de que tanto la poesía como la filosofía son hijas de una misma razón creadora, es decir, en ambos casos está, ya sea de manera implícita o explícita una racionalidad, presentamos el presente ensayo que analiza el pensamiento filosófico contenido en la obra poética de Manuel del Cabral. El propósito es mostrar cómo en este autor la poesía y la filosofía van de la mano, constituyéndose así en uno de los principales pensadores dominicanos, caracterizado por la profundidad de sus ideas y la belleza expresiva con que las presenta. Para la realización de dicho estudio se procedió al análisis hermenéutico de su poesía, relacionándola con los grandes temas que trata la filosofía: la muerte, la belleza, el amor, el sufrimiento, el bien, el mal, la justicia, el conocimiento y la condición humana. En Manuel del Cabral encontramos como hallazgos importantes una visión ética que abarca el grito por las injusticias, la solidaridad con el necesitado, la pequeñez y miseria del ser humano, el asombro ante el infinito y la libertad siempre frágil. Para lograr esto ha sido necesario analizar las obras Compadre Mon, Manuel cuando no es tiempo, De este lado del mar, Sangre mayor, Chinchina Busca el tiempo, Los huéspedes secretos, Pedrada planetaria, Trópico negro, 14 mudos de amor, La espada metafísica.
Starting from the thesis that both poetry and philosophy are daughters of the same creative reason, in both cases, whether in an implicit or explicit way, we present this essay that analyzes the philosophical thought contained in the poetic work of Manuel del Cabral. The purpose is to show how in his work poetry and philosophy go hand to hand, thus becoming one of the leading Dominican thinkers, characterized by the depth of his ideas and the expressive beauty with which they are presented. To carry out this study, we proceeded to the hermeneutic analysis of his poetry, relating it to the great themes that philosophy deals with, such as death, beauty, love, suffering, good, evil, justice, knowledge and the human condition. In Manuel del Cabral we find important findings like an ethical vision that includes the cry for injustice, solidarity with the needy, the smallness and misery of the human being, the amazement before the infinite and the always fragile freedom. To achieve this, it has been necessary to analyze the following works: Compadre Mon, Manuel when it is not time, On this side of the sea, Greater blood, Chinchina Search time, The secret guests, Planetary rocks, Black tropics, 14 dumb love, The metaphysical sword.
