Promotion and application of these processes can become fundamental to advance towards innovation and continuous improvement in all types of companies and institutions; therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze organizational intelligence based on their theoretical perspectives and empirical studies. It was concluded that there is a strong gap in knowledge and a lack of general consensus on the concept of this variable; in addition, the studies of application in the organizations are scarce since they had only been found in three different sectors: education, small businesses and health. Finally, three future lines of research were identified: the sources of organizational intelligence, the working models and the methodologies for the promotion of this variable.
