El desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnología tiene una serie de matices por parte de quienes se encargan de la investigación en el campo científico. El presente ensayo tiene como propósito reflexionar sobre el concepto de trayectoria de Pierre Bourdieu aplicado en la carrera académica de profesores universitarios. Se analiza la trayectoria como elemento que configura el habitus del científico. Estas distinciones permiten apuntalar el capital cultural de los individuos/distinguidos y, de esta manera, se convierten en una persona excepcional; es una especie de trampolín que impulsa a otro campo, coloca en una posición mejor dotada en ese campo, en términos económicos, culturales y científicos. En ese sentido, se describe el concepto de campo científico desde una perspectiva bourdiana, la cual permite distinguir la manera en la que se posicionan los actores en dicho campo, las normas y sus distinciones. Por último, se plantean reflexiones relacionadas con la configuración de científicos y su producción, estableciendo la ubicación de las posiciones y condiciones que existen para el desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnología en México.
The development of science and technology has several nuances from those who make research in the scientific field. This essay aims to reflect on the concept of Bourdieu’s trajectory applied in the academic career of university professors. The academic trajectory is analyzed as an element which frames the scientist´s habitus because these are distinctions which underpin the individuals/ distinguished´ cultural capital, by this mean, they become exceptional people; it is like a trampoline which helps them climbed to another field, in a better position in economic, cultural, and networking terms. In this sense, the scientific field concept is described from a Bourdian perspective, which allows to reveal the individuals’ take of position dynamic in a determinate field, the norms and the distinctions. By last, a reflection on scientists and their production is made allowing to address the existing positions and conditions for the development of science and technology in Mexico.
