La presente investigación examina la concordancia entre la formación que ofrece la Licenciatura en Música de la Universidad de Guanajuato para su salida terminal como instrumentista en el área de boquilla circular, su perfil de egreso explícito y la realidad laboral de sus personas egresadas, con el fin de contribuir a la descripción del panorama de la enseñanza de la música en el nivel superior en términos de empleabilidad e identificar áreas de oportunidad para la mejora del programa educativo señalado y como orientación vocacional para sus estudiantes.
Por medio de una metodología mixta, que incluye la aplicación de una encuesta con seis preguntas de respuesta cerrada, una escala estimativa con seis ítems y una pregunta abierta semiestructurada a las veinte personas egresadas del área, además de análisis del mercado laboral y de la estructura curricular presente en el programa educativo, se describe la predominancia de la docencia, la interpretación musical en los campos popular y académico y la gestión y administración como ámbitos de trabajo más frecuentes, lo que, a su vez, señala la necesidad de fortalecer tanto el perfil de egreso como la estructura curricular del programa educativo con contenidos tendientes a desarrollar competencias en esas áreas.
This research examines the concordance between the education offered by the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Guanajuato for its terminal degree specialty as an instrumentalist in the brass family, its explicit graduation profile and the labour reality of its graduates, in order to contribute to the description of the panorama of music teaching at the higher level in terms of employability, and identify the areas of opportunity for the improvement of the aforementioned educational program and as vocational guidance for its students. Through a mixed methodology, which includes the application of a multiple choice questionnaire with six closed-ended questions, a Likert estimation scale with six items, and one semi-structured open-ended question to the twenty graduates from the area, in addition to analysis of the labour market and the curricular structure of the educational program, the research describes the predominance of teaching, musical performance in the popular and academic fields, and management and administration, as the most frequent labour spheres, which, in turn, points out the need to strengthen both the graduation profile and the curricular structure of the educational program with content aimed at developing competencies in those areas.
