Introducción.
El accidente cerebrovascular isquémico representa una causa importante de morbimortalidad.
Objetivo.
Determinar factores asociados a mortalidad en pacientes con Ictus Isquémico Agudo Aterotrombótico.
Metodología.
estudio observacional, analítico, transversal. El universo lo constituyeron todos los pacientes hospitalizados con diagnóstico de Infarto Cerebral en Servicio de Neurología del Hospital, mediante un muestreo no probabilístico se seleccionó la muestra. Se realizó análisis estadístico descriptivo para cada variable, en una distribución de frecuencias. Se aplicó análisis bivariado de grupos, comparando variables epidemiológicas y clínicas con mortalidad de pacientes.
Resultados.
Predominó el sexo masculino (60,0%), los pacientes mayores de 70 años (80,0%) y los egresados vivos del Hospital (66,0%). No hubo diferencias significativas entre pacientes fallecidos de ambos sexos (p>0,05), demostrándose lo contrario en los distintos grupos de edades (p
