The fruiting bodies are orange-yellow in color and require a wound to infect the host. This species is adapted to high temperatures and high concentrations of salinity. The species is reported for the first time for the Dominican Republic on the Rhizophora mangle and the nanoornamentacion of cirrus is documented for the first time.Cytospora rhizophorae es un hongo patogeno y causa la muerte regresiva del mangle. Los cuerpos fructiferos son de color amarillo anaranjado, y requiere de una herida para infectar el huesped.
