The aim of this study was to determine the teaching - learning process on the management of diabetic patients with ketoacidosis in pediatric residents of that hospital. The following results were found: in a general sense, the learning process of the residents is regular (27.5%). Most of the residents had no contact with patients with ketoacidosis and claimed to have gained knowledge at conferences. 75.36% stated that patients did not respond to treatment. Residents of two year are those who possess the best knowledge about diabetic ketoacidosis.Con el objetivo de determinar el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje sobre el abordaje de pacientes diabéticos con cetoacidosis que tienen los médicos residentes de pediatría del Hospital materno infantil San Lorenzo de Los Mina, se realizó un estudio descriptivo y de corte transversal en dicho hospital. En este estudio se encontraron los siguientes resultados: en sentido general, el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje de los residentes es regular (27.5%). La mayoría de los residentes no ha tenido contacto alguno con pacientes que padezcan cetoacidosis y afirman haber adquirido sus conocimientos en conferencias. El 75.36% expresó que los pacientes no respondieron al tratamiento.
